Chair's Letter March

Chair's Letter

Welcome to the March Newsletter and I hope you are enjoying this time of year when we see the signs of Spring around us. In April and May we have planned return visits to Middlethorpe Hall Gardens and Bridgewater RHS Gardens with booking forms included with this Newsletter and on the website.

In March there is the popular Quiz Night which can still be booked - see page 9. Included in the centre pages are details of our accounts and other information for the 2024 AGM which will be held at the Marriott Hotel on Tadcaster Road: further details on page 4. We also have a programme of talks and short walks.

The Walks Group has been led for several years by Andy Burnard and we are very grateful for the service he has given to YANT and thank him for his continuing support. We welcome Rosemary Anderton as the new Chair of the Walks Group.

Each month we have an excellent arrangement with York Theatre Royal to provide members with a get-together place for lunch. New members are very welcome so don’t hesitate to join us and everyone is welcome to bring along friends who are thinking of joining us. For dates see page 5 and the diary on page 19.

Our next talk, on Saturday 20 April in the Marriott Room at York Explore main library, is about Bees so do come and join us. There are further talks planned for October and November.

Best wishes, Catherine Brophy, Chair
