Christmas Coffee Morning

Saturday 27th November 2021

10am to 12pm at St Edward’s Community Hall,

Dringhouses, York YO24 1GG

Our early Christmas event was a most enjoyable Coffee Morning at St. Edward's Community Hall. To start our activities again we are delighted to announce that we have arranged a talk by Charles Hanson, known from TV programmes such as “Bargain Hunt”, “Flog it!” and “Antiques Road Trip”.

We will hear about his stories from the Sales Room and about his TV adventures. Charles worked for Christies before founding “Hanson Auctioneers” in his home county of Derbyshire.

This event will take place at St Edward’s Church and Church Extension, Dringhouses, on Thursday 28th October at 2.30pm. The Talk and refreshments fee is £15.

The booking form will be sent with the September Newsletter and will then also be available on the website.

Please note there is limited car parking at the Church but several buses stop at or opposite the nearby Marriott Hotel and the Askham Bar park and ride is nearby.

Hope to meet you at this and later events.

York Association of the National Trust 50th Anniversary

Wednesday 22nd September 2021 - 6pm to 8pm at Beningbrough Hall Gardens

After being postponed due to COVID restrictions, the YANT 50th Anniversary Garden Party went ahead at Beningbrough. We were able to meet friends, catch up with the news and enjoy a splendid buffet provided by Poppy Caterers. We were lucky with the weather and were able to stroll in the grounds and sit outside to eat. The restaurant was also available and conversations flowed throughout the evening.

A number of YANT Committee Members were given their long service Awards and a commemorative book was available for Members to record their thoughts. The 50th Anniversary Cake was on display and will be cut, and eaten, at the next coffee morning.

We were very grateful to the National Trust staff for hosting us at Beningbrough Gardens for this special event. The shop was open for us as we arrived and Poppy caterers provided a splendid buffet supper. All together a very special evening for 80 members with a toast to the next 50 years.
