Chair's Letter March

Chair's Letter

Welcome to the March Newsletter which we hope you enjoy reading. There are two holiday reviews and another essay in our series about paintings from the NT Collection. This year our AGM and lunch will be held on Saturday 8th March at the Bar Convent, see page 4 for more information. On Friday 25th April there is the YANT quiz evening with supper, further details are on page 5. There is a day trip by coach to East Riddlesden Hall and the Brontë Vicarage on Wednesday 21st May and on Thursday 4th September a joint visit with YPS to the Quarry Bank NT estate, also by coach, details on page 7. Booking forms are included with this Newsletter and on the website.

As you can read in my AGM report, included with our financial statement in the centre of this newsletter, we are trying to recruit new committee members. We still need several roles filling, including Website Administrator, Secretary and Chair. If you know anyone who might like to join us, do let us know. Do encourage your friends to come and meet us at the April Talk or the drop in lunches.

Each month the Walks Group provide fascinating short gentle walks finishing at a Café or Pub and they are looking for new walk suggestions see page 9. The excellent arrangement with York Theatre Royal continues to provide members with a monthly get-together place for lunch every third Tuesday. On page 6 you will find an update about holiday bookings so do consider joining one of these friendly well organised adventures.

You will be most welcome at any of these events.

Best wishes, Catherine Brophy, Chair
